9/3 - Truly enjoying every second of my internship at the hospital. My supervisor offers very interesting insights after dealing with challenging patients - I think we experience empathy in a similar way. "I can understand that what this family is going through is challenging, but also..." Even when she is dealing with the most difficult families, she never forgets their humanity. The other person in our windowless cube reminds me of my friend L - both of them are former party girls from rural America that can seamlessly fit within both worlds. It's a good culture fit.

Went minigolfing last weekend. I love taking photos at minigolf courses, and love this ongoing project I have designed for myself. I'm ultimately working towards a photo project called "Fun World" which is just images of a fading America designed around elaborate homemade tourist traps and entertainment facilities. Tim Davis describes photography as "falling in love with life over and over again" which is often how I feel. I really want to start doing more portraits...
